Sleepy Hollow Farm's Traveling Ponies and Zoo

We have three different sizes of ponies. Smalls can carry up to 50 lbs. and are used for children up to 4 years old. Mediums can carry up to 75 lbs. and are usually used for 4-6 or 7 year olds. Large ponies carry up to 100 lbs. We also offer traveling horses for any adults that wish to ride.

A unique educational program for daycares, nursery schools, camps and other organizations. A hands-on learning experience that includes a Babydoll sheep, an African Pygmy goat, a Buff Crested Polish rooster and Bantam hen, a Miniature Vietnamese Potbellied pig.

Children learn about their habits and what role they play in life on a working farm. The products the animals produce are used as handouts. Children also get the opportunity to pet the animals, play a "strong egg" game, handle down, feel and touch lamb's wool, feel and touch a pig bristle paintbrush, examine a quill pen and touch and feel goat horns (like the ones used in the Bible Story of Jericho).

Every child loves dressing up like a cowgirl or cowboy. For each child we can provide a child's cowboy hat, an authentic bandana, and a gumby farm animal toy.We also offer A Farm Animal Bean Bag Toss which comes with a goat and a bunny. Our clean friendly animals and this bean bag toss keep the children plenty occupied while they wait to ride the pony.

Children also get the opportunity to learn all about ponies and how to care for them. They get to see and touch horseshoes, learn how to groom the pony with the different types of brushes used to clean them, how the pony is "tacked up", and what the pony eats.
