Kaye's musical history began at a very early age in a small town in North Dakota. Sitting on her father's lap, listening to him play "fiddle" by ear, she was singing before she was five years old. Over the years she sang a variety of music including popular, country western and classical. When people heard her pure tones, they would ask her how long she had been training. She was too shy to just say her voice was natural so she would say, "My teachers were God and the radio." Then in the early ****'s she found jazz and fell in love with it. She attended jazz vocal classes at DeAnza College with Roger Letson and Jazz Camp West where there were many fine instructors including Madeline Eastman and Rebecca Paris.
Kaye then formed the Kaye Roze Jazz Affair band and has performed in many Bay Area clubs such as:
Café Fino
Katie Blooms
Sam's Log Cabin
Niccolino's Garden Cafe
And more...
Corporations which have engaged Kaye Roze Jazz Affair such as Cisco Systems, Sakata Seed, Magellan and Sony for their company events have been very pleased, as stated in their testimonials. At the grand opening of Smart & Final the coordinators said the music was perfect for the setting they were trying to achieve.
Kaye Roze Jazz Affair performs at wedding ceremonies and receptions. Kaye utilizes her versatility to sing solo classical and popular music for a formal wedding setting, then with the band changes to dancing and listening music for the celebration afterward. Kaye is described as "the little girl with a big voice." She packs a wallop singing an energetic swing tune, sultry blues, Latin salsa or a heart-wrenching ballad. Then, completely switching to gears, she can sing like an angel on a sweet ballad. Her band includes some of the finest musicians in the Bay Area.
