I started sewing when I was in the *th grade. I wanted to take sewing in school, however, I was told that I would have to take cooking first. I wasn't the least bit interested in cooking an only wanted to sew. Therefore, I purchased fabric and a pattern and made my first outfit by hand. After, seeing the outcome I felt so excited and started saving money to purchase a sewing machine.

Custom Fashions by Barbara opened its doors for operation in July ****, specializing in alterations and dressmaking for bride maids, mother of the bride and groom, prom dresses, flower girl dresses. I also sew and design clothing for career, casual, and play wear. Custom Fashions by Barbara specializes in creating unique designs. I work with each client to create that perfect garment for that special occasion.

I am a member of the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers (PACC), Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) and Women Supporting Women (WSW). Since starting my business, I have taken courses in Dressmaking and Designing; I wanted to be able to take my ideas and yours to create a garment without the use of a commercial pattern. I utilize a pattern making software (Dress Shop) to design garments that will fit you.

My mission is to provide quality clothing for individuals who want their clothing to fit them.
