Maggie Sottero Dion - Please Share Your Ideas
If anyone has worn this dress, or seen it worn...I need help.
I am considering the Maggie Sottero Dion in white/ice. I took some pics in it, and all of the sudden, I am not sure I love it as much. Has anyone worn it? How did your pics. Turn out? I love the dress, but you can hardly see any of the beadwork, etc. In the pictures. Is this going to be true of any dress?
Also, if you can help w/ideas for flowers, bridesmaids, decor, etc. For this dress, I would love to know what you think! I think I want this dress, but like I said, the pics. Frustrated me a bit.
Anyway, Our wedding is in Nov. 03.

I tried on the dion yesterday! I looooved it! But i think the price was to high. 2234 USD in Amsterdam - The Netherlands.
I don't understand what you mean with the pics. If you mean the pearls ... That 's what it makes it so pretty! Anyway I really felt like a princess in that dress.

| Hi Cathy, I know what you mean. I guess for the picture, its all depends on the color of the dress, if you want to show more beads work on the picture, you should wear Ivory color( Thats what bridal salon people told me). I have same problem right now that I will order "Angelina" from Maggie and I like Diamond White(off white) or Ivory, but if I wear that colors, it is so limited to pick the color for bridesmaids dress, veil, flowers etc, but if you wear White, you don't have any problems to picking colors. I know most of the Maggie's gown picture from the catalog are Ivory. Look s good huh? |

I bought the Dion and did the same thing! Your pics from the dressing room will not do the dress justice. I was worried, but my photos and video came out beautifully. Let me know if you need anything advice wise: christine4cm@yahoo.com

It could be your camera. All white gowns don't normally photograph beautifully except with professional cameras and professional film. Is "ice" the blue bead color or the silver? I've found the blue shows up better in photos.

| I am sure the dress will turn out fine in the photos. I bought it for my December wedding. I am using Bari Jay's bridesmaid dress #411 in a light blue to match the beading. If you are looking for cheap veils, I suggest e-bay. I purchased a cathedral length for $35 and it was beautiful. I am using hydrangeas for my centerpieces. |

I am getting Married Nov 04 and would love to hear how your wedding turned out as I have chosen that dress too and think it is adorable. I hope you ended up with that one and would love to hear any ideas you have.
What colour bridesmaids did you have - I am concerned about colours matching the blue jewels ?

My bridesmaid and mother are halfwway across the country trying to coordinate with this blue. I am thinking of having my maid of honor in silver. I am also considering the Dion, it looks absolutely beautiful. However, in the UK, it is up for sale at £1095 which is very pricey. Does anyone know of any reputable internet bridal stores who can offer me better deals and discount prices? I'm wary of buying a dress of the internet and would love to hear from anyone who has bought their dress this way and has any recommendations.

| I have also bought this dress for my wedding in Sept 05. I bought it brand new for $481.17 (including tax) at SpyBaby Bridal Boutique in Syracuse, NY. It comes wiith a really pretty beaded purse and a gorgeous wrap! I am using crimson red for my bridesmaids with white roses, and deep red roses to go with my dress. I love it SO much! | I just wore that dress for my March 6 wedding in FL. It looked beautiful. Make sure your photographer takes photos of the train, and back. My seamstress at the bridal shop used either end of the shawl (because the beadwork matched) and made me little cap sleeves. It was beautiful!! I also didn't want a big bustle, so the made hooks and ribbons along the under side, so I could fold it under and it would look hemmed. I loved the back train, and didn't want to wreck it with a bustle. If you want photos, email me. I'd love to send you some. |

| My daughter wore this gown in candlelight. Yes the photos are tricky, but can be done. Hers has a custom French bustle and is a size 4, but as you know, with the lace up back and the modesty panel, it's a bit adjustable. The gown is for sale for $800, including shipping. |
